Junior Level Mechanic 1
Durante Equipment is looking for a motivated and talented Junior Level Mechanic to join our team. We are looking for someone to perform quality preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Durante Equipment Responsibilities:
The Mechanic Level I is an entry-level technician responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing construction rental equipment under the guidance of senior technicians. This position is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude who is eager to develop their skills while ensuring our rental fleet remains safe, reliable, and ready for customers.
At Durante Equipment, our technicians are expected to uphold our commitment to Driven to Deliver by preparing every machine to meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) services on construction equipment.
Inspect rental equipment upon return for damage or excessive wear.
Clean and prepare equipment for the next rental.
Assist senior technicians with mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical repairs.
Replace filters, fluids, belts, hoses, batteries, tires, and other wear items.
Diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues using service manuals and diagnostic tools.
Perform equipment function tests before equipment is released for rent.
Accurately document repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Assist in loading and unloading equipment when necessary.
Report equipment needing major repairs to the Service Manager.
Mid-Level Mechanic 2
Durante Equipment is looking for a motivated and talented Mid-Level Mechanic to join our team. We are looking for someone to perform quality preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs, as well as perform expert diagnosis to prevent breakdowns, reduce equipment downtime, and improve total fleet reliability. Durante Equipment Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various types of equipment typically used in the construction industry..
Works with the Lead Mechanic to conduct regular inspections on equipment to ensure safety and preventative maintenance of equipment.
Documents repairs and preventative maintenance for record-keeping and invoicing purposes. · Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always maintained and customer expectation is needed. · You will be required to keep track of the maintenance work performed on the vehicles and equipment and comply with all safety procedures. Must have good communication and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. All other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems & troubleshooting skills
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with the discipline to ensure accurate and quality work.
Ability to climb on and inspect large construction equipment regularly.
Have excellent oral and written communication skills and a great team player.
Willingness to learn
Self-motivated with skills and attitude to excel.
Must have own tools.
Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Class B CDL Delivery Drivers
Durante Equipment is looking for talented and motivated Class B CDL drivers to transport various types of construction equipment on numerous types of trucks and tractor trailers to jobsites within Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach area. We have a stable, friendly and professional environment with an outstanding reputation for family values and excellent customer service.)
Durante Equipment Responsibilities:
The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for the safe, timely delivery and pickup of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites throughout South Florida. This position requires excellent customer service, attention to safety, and the ability to load, secure, transport, and unload equipment efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement (preferred if applicable).
Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card).
Clean driving record with the ability to meet company insurance requirements.
Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience (equipment hauling preferred).
Ability to safely operate trucks with flatbeds, rollback, or stake body configurations.
Knowledge of DOT regulations, cargo securement, and vehicle inspections.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in South Florida weather.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience transporting construction equipment.
Ability to operate equipment such as:
Skid steers
Mini excavators
Boom lifts
Scissor lifts
Forklifts
Rollers
Generators
Familiarity with load securement using chains, binders, and straps.
Basic mechanical aptitude to identify equipment issues.
Essential Duties
Deliver and pick up rental equipment safely and on schedule.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Load, unload, and properly secure equipment.
Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
Demonstrate safe equipment operation to customers when required.
Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company positively.
Report maintenance issues or damage immediately.
Follow all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies.
Physical Requirements
Frequently climb, bend, kneel, and secure heavy equipment.
Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Work in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times throughout the day.
